Chase's First Day of Kindergarten

Chase started kindergarten today! He was excited to go, but also nervous because it was going to be a new school for him~

The school posts the class list at 5PM the night before the first day of school. We weren't able to see it last night, so we took pictures of the lists this morning. Luckily, Chase got one of the best teachers (however, they're all good!)~

On the first day, parents got to escort their child into the classroom. We all said the Pledge of Allegiance, listened to the teacher's announcements for twenty minutes (mostly about how she needs parent volunteers so she's able to do her optimal lesson plan) and then had to leave so we could hear announcements in the cafeteria. I'm glad I got to go inside with Chase because he was feeling overwhelmed and shy~

Overall, I thought Chase's teacher was fantastic! She's warm and friendly, but is able to handle all these little kinder voices interrupting her with a firmness. It was a short day for Chase (regular times start next Monday) and he was all smiles when I picked him up. He has two good friends from preschool who are in his class and a couple of other preschool friends are in different kinder classes so he is able to play with them at recess. Of course when I asked him what he did in school, his standard answer was, "nothing".
