Saturday Fun

We had a busy little Saturday. First, Chase had Sansei baseball practice at 10am. Tanner took him and helped with practice while I finished getting the girls ready for the day. We took the double BOB and walked to watch the end of practice and then walked home. Next up was Kurt's birthday party at Scooter's Jungle. There was extra room so Jayden and Riley got to go too. Jayden had a blast playing with her friend Ashlynn and Riley was Riley - sometimes deliriously happy, other times, end of the world sad.

Tanner had fun challenging all the boys to a shooting contest~

Riley loved bouncing in the bouncy houses, but cried every time we went down a slide, which was unusual for her~

Typical Riley - not just happy with staying safe, she has to see what happens if she dives headfirst~

All kids fell asleep on the way home. Of course, Riley and Chase woke up immediately when we opened the doors...Jayden was the only one who took an hour nap. The rest of the evening was spent eating leftovers, seeing Uncle Marcus, Tyler, and Miles (Marcus was babysitting so K&S could go out), and watching Captain America Winter Soldier. Chase was scared of the movie and asked to go to bed in the beginning, so I made Jayden go to bed too, even though she cried and said she wasn't scared.

Friday

Today I took a class at Cardio Barre for the first time. It was challenging, but I'm glad I did it. I bought a groupon for 10 classes, so I'm planning on attending the rest of the classes this month. Other than that, it was a regular Friday, except Kamery was working late so I picked up Miles from Mary's house along with Riley.

As soon as we get home, Riley and Miles want a snack while Chase and Jayden run off to play with the neighbors. Once again, I feel so lucky that we live on a street with lots of kids and friendly families.

Riley and Miles sat on the porch watching all the action and eating their snacks~

Tanner came home by six and we got to spend a long (ha ha) evening with the kids together~

Jayden the Jedi

Thursday morning Jayden and I went to Target to do some grocery shopping and to get a birthday present for Emilio. In the toy aisle they had this cool "3D Me" machine. This company takes a picture of you and then makes a plastic doll toy with your face. Jayden chose to try out what she would look like as a Jedi Knight~

Jayden was super excited when she saw the machine because she loves all the Star Wars movies. She begs Tanner to play them over and over again while she asks a MILLION questions.~

Here she is, Jayden the Jedi~

Jayden has mastered using the Force~

Next up, we went for walk around the neighborhood. I listed to the new Serial podcast while Jayden napped in the stroller. We had to send a picture to Tanner for proof that I went walking and that I wore the workout pants and shoes he got me for Christmas~

Emilio's party was at 4:30pm, so I hired Hanna to watch Chase and Riley, while Jayden and I went to her classmate's party. She was shy for the first 15 minutes and would only hide her head in behind my legs, but then she was off and running with her friends~

Tuesday Farmer's Market

One of my favorite things to do on Tuesdays is to go to the Farmer's Market with Jayden. We love sampling all the fruits - the oranges were especially yummy today. Jayden always asks for a malasada donut and is so happy when I say "yes".

WLA Rebels

Chase really enjoys his basketball teammates. There's 10 of them and they make an impressive team. Their new season recently started and they have been blowing out the competition. It is rare case when the other team scores on them. I hope they're able to remain together as a team throughout high school.

Disneyland

Grandma Nish bought season passes for all the grandchildren for Christmas. Since Riley is under three and still free, I got to have her season pass. Grandma Nish and I decided to take Tyler and Jayden to Disneyland on Tuesday since neither of them have preschool. We packed the BOB in the van and walked from the parking lot to the security entrance (20 min walk) where Grandma Nish was stopped because she had a selfie stick in her purse! Since Grandma Nish didn't want to forfeit the selfie stick she decided to take it back to the van. While she did that, Tyler, Jayden, and I got our annual passport cards.

Jayden holding her annual passport card~

In front of the castle - Jayden really wanted to go inside to see princesses. Tyler really did not want to go inside. He wanted to do "boy stuff" not "girl stuff"~

While Grandma Nish was still on her journey to the van, we decided to make our first ride the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters. Mostly because it was only a 5 minute line (which was really 10). Jayden was scared of the dark and wanted me to use her blaster. Tyler wasn't too scared and had a good time blasting the targets~

After the ride, Grandma Nish found us and we decided to do Star Tours. Tyler and Jayden just made the 40" height requirement. While in line, we were treated to a viewing of two Storm Troopers. They were regulating the line and telling people that they're keeping "an eye on you". Jayden and Tyler were a bit scared, but really intrigued.

During most of our time standing in line Tyler kept asking me if we were going to see "bad guys" like Darth Vader. I had just been on this ride a couple of weeks ago and there were no sightings during the ride so I kept saying "no bad guys". I didn't know it then, but there's multiple videos shown during the Star Tours ride and of course, Darth Vader was in it for 20 seconds holding onto our star ship and not letting go! Tyler had fun telling me that I was wrong afterwards.

Star Tours is in 3D and both kids liked their glasses~

Next we went into the DC Experience, but the lines were too long to meet Spiderman or Thor~

Jayden's wish came true and she met Sleeping Beauty by the castle. Jayden was very shy and only nodded yes to Aurora's questions about her favorite color being pink (Tyler did not want to photographed with a "girl" princess)~

Before entering Toon Town, we asked the balloon vendor if Jayden could hold his inventory. Much to her disappointment, she did not fly~

Having fun in Toon Town~

It was a very quick trip to Disneyland. We got there around 10am (after we dropped Chase and Riley off) and then had to leave the park by 2pm so we would be on time to pick up Chase from school. Jayden and Tyler had a great time and they both behaved very nicely.

Later that evening, Grandma Nish watched everyone while I took Chase to basketball practice. She had all of them in the tub and cleaned by the time we got back~
