Pictures of Jayden

Sometimes I feel like I forget to take pictures of Jayden. Second child neglect. So in a “make-up” effort I’ll put her in different outfits in a 15 minute time period and then snap pictures like crazy in order to increase the number of photos I have of her. I hear this is a common occurrence with other moms too~

Feb. 21, 2012: Chase

Chase was not being a good listener and so I threatened him with a timeout if he didn't do what I asked by the time I counted to three. So I counted, "One" (blank stare from Chase), "Two" (defiant stare from Chase) and "Thr.." right before I finished saying three, Chase did as I asked. Then he said, "Whew! That was a close one Mommy!"

Getting our money’s worth

On Sunday we went to the Aquarium of the Pacific again!! I wanted to be sure we got our “money’s worth” out of our annual pass. Tanner’s co-worker, Bernard, and his two adorable kids met us at the Aquarium for a day of fun. Chase and Chloe looking at the shark lagoon~

Chloe was adventurous enough to try to touch them. Chase liked looking, but he had no desire to touch~

Instead of touching the diamond rays, Chase opted for a snack~IMG_1423

So did Tyler – must be a boy thing~

Back to the Aquarium for Chase’s favorite “exhibit” – the squid shooting water at the shark statues. Since it was almost time to go home, we let the kids run through the water stream~

Making Breakfast

Whenever I’m in the kitchen Chase usually asks, “Can I help you?”. So for today’s breakfast I found a really simple sticky bun recipe using Pilsbury Grands dinner rolls on Pinterest. I let Chase sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture on~

Finished product – my review: pretty good, nothing stellar to taste, but definitely REALLY easy to make and it looks good~

Aquarium of the Pacific

Friday morning did not start off well. The kids and I were finally showered, dressed, fed and ready to go to the Aquarium. I decided to change Jayden’s diaper before we left and I ended up with projectile poop on my shirt, the carpet and all over her outfit. After changing myself, Jayden and cleaning the floor I went to the car. Dead battery. URRRRGHHHH!
Luckily, things picked up after that. Triple A arrived about 10 minutes after I called, assessed that I needed a new battery and replaced it. Great service! Then I packed everyone into the car and headed out to Long Beach. Of course, on our way there Chase and Jayden both fell asleep. IMG_1347IMG_1348

This was my first time to the Aquarium and I really enjoyed all the exhibits. Jayden slept through most of our time there~

Chase was still a little grumpy since his nap was so short. He refused to look at the camera~

Chase enjoyed the ray pool. He liked looking, but did not want to touch~IMG_1365

This statue was Chase’s favorite thing at the Aquarium~IMG_1374

He stayed at this place for at least twenty minutes before I made him leave. He loved pressing the buttons so that water spouted out~IMG_1375

We had a great time at the Aquarium. I decided to buy an annual family pass since the Aquarium is only 30 minutes away and would pay for itself in two-three visits`IMG_1396

As we were leaving Jayden decided to wake up~IMG_1388

Feb.17, 2012 - Chase

"Mommy, I'm being crazy"

"This one's a tricky one you guys"

C:"What are we doing today?"
Me: "Playing at home"
C: "Then what?"
Me: "Lunch"
C: "Then what?"
Me: "Dinner"
C: "Then what?"
Me: "Bath then bed."
C: "And then we do it all over again?"
Me: "That's right"

Things Chase Said Today

Tanner doesn't realize it, but Chase picks up on almost everything he says. Here's a list of some of Chase's "sayings":
  • "That's the grind. Nobody cares!"
  • "This is how I do it"
  • "Nicely played, Mr. Logue"
  • "Did I use my good words?"

Thursdays with Jayden

On Thursdays Chase goes to preschool and then to Auntie Naomi’s house (thank you Auntie Naomi!). That means that I get some quality one-on-one time with Jayden! I’ve been trying to get more experience with my DSLR camera and Jayden is a great subject to practice on. I love putting little bows in her hair~IMG_5055

I also love her little expressions, she’s pretty serious. I had her propped between two pillows and she sat nicely for two or three shots before she started to slouch~IMG_5061IMG_5070IMG_5059

I’m trying to use this giraffe as a benchmark for her growth~IMG_5076

However, she might outgrow the giraffe before she can sit by herself~IMG_5077

Tummy time – Jayden has a very strong neck. IMG_5084IMG_5090IMG_5103

It was such a bright and sunny day that I thought I could get a few shots outside….IMG_5126

but it was TOO bright and sunny for Jayden. She complained immediately and we went back inside to take a nap and do dishes. IMG_5144
