Getting our money’s worth
On Sunday we went to the Aquarium of the Pacific again!! I wanted to be sure we got our “money’s worth” out of our annual pass. Tanner’s co-worker, Bernard, and his two adorable kids met us at the Aquarium for a day of fun. Chase and Chloe looking at the shark lagoon~
Chloe was adventurous enough to try to touch them. Chase liked looking, but he had no desire to touch~
Tanner and Bernard “having fun”~
Jayden stayed in her stroller~
Instead of touching the diamond rays, Chase opted for a snack~
So did Tyler – must be a boy thing~
Lunch at Bubba Gump’s restaurant~
Back to the Aquarium for Chase’s favorite “exhibit” – the squid shooting water at the shark statues. Since it was almost time to go home, we let the kids run through the water stream~
Jumping for joy~

Making Breakfast
Photo taken right before going into the oven~
Photo taken after baking in the oven~
Finished product – my review: pretty good, nothing stellar to taste, but definitely REALLY easy to make and it looks good~
Sweet Jayden was sleeping while Chase and I were baking~

Aquarium of the Pacific
Luckily, things picked up after that. Triple A arrived about 10 minutes after I called, assessed that I needed a new battery and replaced it. Great service! Then I packed everyone into the car and headed out to Long Beach. Of course, on our way there Chase and Jayden both fell asleep.
This was my first time to the Aquarium and I really enjoyed all the exhibits. Jayden slept through most of our time there~
Pacific Reef fish~
Chase was still a little grumpy since his nap was so short. He refused to look at the camera~
Looking at an “eel garden” through a magnifying glass~
The eels dig their tails into the sand and catch floating plankton~
Chase enjoyed the ray pool. He liked looking, but did not want to touch~
Tentatively sticking fingertips into the pool~
Some of the sting rays would try to climb up the wall~
A barking seal~
This statue was Chase’s favorite thing at the Aquarium~
He stayed at this place for at least twenty minutes before I made him leave. He loved pressing the buttons so that water spouted out~
An exhibit about Los Angeles’ watersheds~
“I’m king of the world!”
Looking at the seals underwater~
We had a great time at the Aquarium. I decided to buy an annual family pass since the Aquarium is only 30 minutes away and would pay for itself in two-three visits`
As we were leaving Jayden decided to wake up~
Feb.17, 2012 - Chase
"This one's a tricky one you guys"
C:"What are we doing today?"
Me: "Playing at home"
C: "Then what?"
Me: "Lunch"
C: "Then what?"
Me: "Dinner"
C: "Then what?"
Me: "Bath then bed."
C: "And then we do it all over again?"
Me: "That's right"

Things Chase Said Today
- "That's the grind. Nobody cares!"
- "This is how I do it"
- "Nicely played, Mr. Logue"
- "Did I use my good words?"
Thursdays with Jayden
On Thursdays Chase goes to preschool and then to Auntie Naomi’s house (thank you Auntie Naomi!). That means that I get some quality one-on-one time with Jayden! I’ve been trying to get more experience with my DSLR camera and Jayden is a great subject to practice on. I love putting little bows in her hair~
I also love her little expressions, she’s pretty serious. I had her propped between two pillows and she sat nicely for two or three shots before she started to slouch~
I’m trying to use this giraffe as a benchmark for her growth~
However, she might outgrow the giraffe before she can sit by herself~
Tummy time – Jayden has a very strong neck.
It was such a bright and sunny day that I thought I could get a few shots outside….
but it was TOO bright and sunny for Jayden. She complained immediately and we went back inside to take a nap and do dishes.
